Xiaomi Finally Unveils the Mi Note 2

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker is has finally unveiled the much awaited successor to the Mi Note, the Mi Note 2 at an event in Beijing, China. The device gets a buch of new features and upgrades under the hood.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inch flexible OLED dual-curved display- similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge. The device boats a 77 percent screen to body ratio.

The smartphone gets a 3D glass on the front and at the back, giving a premium look and feel. The device gets an aluminum construction underneath for added strength.

Under the hood, the Mi Note 2 is expected to be rocking a Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset- Snapdragon 821 chipset, paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

The device is available 64GB and 128GB storage variants. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is powered by a 4400mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features Sony’s all new 22.56-megapixel Exmor RS sensor. The camera also gets a 3-axis gyro-sensor for a smooth video recording experience.

The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps. There’s also an 8-megapixel front-facing AF camera for your selfies, helping in delivering sharper images, and depth of field. The front camera also gets selfie panorama feature to click groupies with ease.

For connectivity, the smartphone gets 4G LTE and VoLTE with support for global LTE bands, with over six type and 37 bands in total. This will be a boon for consumers who travel abroad a lot and suffer compatibility issue with foreign network providers. The smartphone supports download speeds up to 600Mbps.

The smartphone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI8 skin on top.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is priced at CNY 2799 (approximately Rs 28,000) for the 4GB/64GB variant, CNY 3299 (approximately Rs 33,000) for the 6GB/128GB, and CNY 3499 (approximately Rs 35,000) for 6GB/128GB with Global LTE band support.
