How to take a screenshot on the iPhone X

The steps required to take a screenshot on the iPhone X are a little different to what you might be familiar with – and that's because it's the first iPhone to do away with Apple's iconic Home button.

Do not panic, though. The new method is just as simple. All you need to do is press the Power and Volume Up keys simultaneously, then your iPhone X will take a snapshot of what is on the screen, uninterrupted by the notch.

What is more, iOS 11 arms you with the facility to annotate, edit and share screenshots as soon as you take them – so you don’t have to go dumpster diving to find the file you are looking for, before editing and forwarding it to a third-party.

If you have made the switch from an Android smartphone to an iPhone X, you should feel right at home as it employs the same process to take a screenshot as the one Google's been pushing since the birth of its open-source operating system.

Apple ditched the Home button on the iPhone X in order to fill more of the phone’s front with screen. That means the old Touch ID fingerprint sensor also got the boot too. As a result, Apple ended up integrating the new Face ID facial recognition system instead, which acts as the main alternative for user authentication after Touch ID’s departure.
