How to recover deleted files from Samsung Galaxy S2

Published on July 21 2013

"I am wondering if it's possible to recover a lost recording from a Samsung Galaxy S2? I was recording something important with voice recorder and it went for 3 hours and then all of a sudden the phone died and i lost everything. I was told that i could have recovered it if it was on an SD card using Recuva but it was on the phones inbuilt memory.Does anyone know how to recover a portion or all of the recording? This is very important to me. I would like to thank all reply's in advance."

When a "delete" is performed, only the space that the file occupies is marked as blank and can be reused by new files, but the deleted file will be still there until new data overwrites it. Hence, if you haven't shot any new photos or video clips, you still can recover deleted data with the help of Samsung Galaxy Data Recovery software.

Here, you can turn to Wondershare Dr .Fone for Android which is powerful enough to recover contacts, messages, photos and videos from Samsung Galaxy S2 and other Samsung devices such as Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Samsung Galaxy Tab etc.

Tips: If you want to recover photos, video and music not only from the SD card inside your mobile phone, but also from computer, or other storage devices like external hard drives, cameras, camcorders, USB drives, iPod, MP3/MP4 players, etc., you can use Wondershare Photo Recovery, or Wondershare Photo Recovery for Mac

Step by step to recover deleted files from Samsung Galaxy S2

Step 1. Connect your Samsung Galaxy to the computer

Connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 to the computer with a USB cable. Then run the program to get the following interface:

After the analyzing, you need to turn to your device's homescreen to click "Allow", so that the scan can be started. Then click "Start" to scan your device now.

Note: For some devices, they may ask you to click "Allow" more than one time on your device's homescreen. It's normal. Just do it if it askes.

Step 4. Preview and recover data from Samsung Galaxy

The scan will take you some time. When messages and contacts are scanned out, it will remind you. And you can stop the scan to get them back if you only want to recover deleted messages and contacts. For photos and video, it will take you more time to scan out all of them.

After the scan, you can check details of all the found data one by one. Mark those you want and click "Recover" to save them on your computer.

Note: Don't save the recovered data on your Samsung Galaxy again. Find another place for it like on your computer or other external disk, for safety's sake. If you want to import your contacts, photos and video back to your device, you can use Wondershare MobileGo for Android or MobileGo for Android (Mac) which lets you manage contents on your Android device effortlessly, including messages, contacts, photos, videos, apps, etc.
